As soon as I have reliable templates I'd be happy to discuss providing a body/neck for finishing. I mean for someone like Frankie, I could probably just send you some templates - Deluxster by Frankenlab could work

I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself, but sharing within this community would be something I'd like to do.

    Ha hah.

Bit of good news. Those following along may recall I was going to put an aluminium plate on the back of the headstock as it was just fractionally too thin for the tuners. After a bit of fossicking I came up with some thicker washers which do the job nicely. Test fit of the nut, will need some finessing during setup, but good enough for now.

What control arrangements are you thinking of for the models? All currently show the same three knobs but you've got different pickup selections. Also, where are the selector switches going (except for the Tele style P2 where it's shown.)

Oh yeah, good point. Those are just generalised mockups, but imagine one of the knobs is a 3 or 5 way switch (was too lazy to draw it). Some of the notation isn't right either.....

There is enough real estate on the plates to accomodate a pretty wide selection of controls. If I actually get up to doing a multi guitar run I'll probably go for 2 Humbuckers, 1 vol, 1 Tone and a 3 way because that's my general preference, but its also one of those things that's easy enough to change from guitar to guitar if someone wants something specific.

The actual plans for building and getting things laser cut are a lot more detailed.

On one of the earliest iterations, where it was planned as a neck through I had a long aluminium panel with a route almost the whole way under it to allow just about any possible combo of knobs and switches. I might still make one of these down the track... but my current neck through build plans are a lot wackier than this should I ever reach the point of doing the next evolution in terms of construction.

Sticking with traditional bolt on for the next one anyway as I already have a neck and fretboard blank.

" I might still make one of these down the track..." I can already see that aluminium strip from the side of the body,... Would be a really nice detail and very original!

Yeah the idea has evolved a bit since that. I've been following and inspired by Millimetric guitars from Canada and the way he does kind of a partial neck through. The new designs use something similar and also hark back to my very first scratch body attempt in construction from multiple laser cut pieces.....

Anyway.. need to get this one done. I've been looking at it this morning and I think I'm just going to accept defeat on getting the gloss I want and go for a satin finish. It's just not cooperating and I've wasted too much time trying to get it perfect.

Finally some decent spraying weather this morning. Bit the bullet and went with satin. It's not quite what I was planning, but I'm not at all unhappy with the result. Its the same finish as the Steampunker and that is lovely to hold and play. It also seems to cure more quickly so a good chance I can start putting it together on Sunday.
