    A Sunburst Story.

There are not a lot of GOOD youtube videos that I could find re spraying a sunburst with rattle cans, but there were a couple of stewmac articles and the instructions with the finishing kit are pretty good. So here goes.

Getting started. First, 3 coats of sanding sealer.

At his point realised that holding body and spaying was too hard, so knocked up a hands free support

Then a bit of black on the very edge, most nerve wracking bit. Forgot to take a pic of this bit.

But it was done here :-)

On to the clear, this is 3 coats on both sides, will let dry and do 3 more, it will then hang for a couple of weeks and I'll start polishing.

Poured with Rain all last night so wondering about the humidity, may not get a chance to finish the clear today.

Anyone have an opinion on how long to leave a Nitro finish before you can safely Wet sand and polish?

You should be happy. It's a beaut!

I am curious how you made the hole in your hands free stand. I may want to try to replicate that!

Thanks, the post attached to the guitar is 30mm, so I used a 32 mm spade bit to drill out a circle then drew round a spare piece of the 30mm post at the angles I wanted and knocked out the corners with a sharp chisel.
