    #6 - sta-1ht - A sunburst Story

The plan was always to stop at #5. Oh well, a few of glasses of wine and internet access are a dangerous thing.

Current plan for this one is the classic Strat burst amber out to black, if I can get it right on a few practice pieces. If I chicken out, will probably end up natural, which with the grain will look fine as well.

The Neck and headstock, Haven't seen it like this before, unsure how I feel at the moment, will be a more unique feature though I suppose.

Shout out to Adam, for fulfilling my request to swap out all the white bits for black bits, and yes there are only 2 pickups in the box, 1 is on back order, they are Benson KWS's.

That is a wild grain on the neck! Looks pretty consistent though, I bet it'll look great finished. Body grain is also really cool, be nice to highlight a bit through the burst.

Some initial attempts which tell me I have a fair bit of practising to do. Although in fairness I'd don't think the 4th one is too bad.

Definitely getting there. The hardest bit is getting width of the outer colour even and an even blend. I think you will be able to get it to work.

Forgot to mention, the other adventure on this one, will be making it string through. Getting that all aligned should be fun. Does mean I'll need a new bridge as the kit one is top load only.

Agree the outside edge is a bugger, start narrow, and it just creeps in every time. Oh well more trial and error to come.

Looking like a nice kit mate. Excellent colour choice. I want to build a hard tail strat but that’ll probably mean I need to sell one of my other strats 😩😂
