What do you get a man who has enough bloody guitars? One more!

My brother from another mother has just started the beginning of his 40th lap around the sun, and his wife and I want mark it with a token of our appreciation for him simply existing.

We want to present him with a simple thrasher, with a personal touch. She is a prolific doodler. She simply cannot be around a pen and paper and not let this stuff ooze through her hands.

The plan is to give her an antique white base on which she'll Posca the living daylights over. Following this, well clear coat.

I'm super excited about this.

I'm going to ask you all some advice straight up. I want the face of the headstock to be painted/Posca'd, whilst the back of the neck and remainder of the neck to be finished with TruOil. My logic tells me to oil first with the face masked to completion, then sand back the face if there's been bleed, the mask back and spray headstock face.

Does this sound about right?
