Well, I did not find a thread already dealing with this question, so ...
Has anybody ever tried to put some genuine Rickenbacker 300 pickups on a RC-1 guitar kit ?
I can easily deal with the wiring matters, but I wonder if they "standard" fit on this kit, due to their unusual shape (not standard humbuckers)
Would there be "heavy" adjustments to do to the pickup cavities ?

From what i've seen online the pickup routes on ricks are tiny because they just sit on top of the body. if you have the kit you might be able to measure the cavities and compare it to the pup measurements to see if they would fit.

Well, for now, I don't have neither the kit build nor the pickups, just checking if it would be a good match and win or an utter fail
Trying to get some data from*the rickenbacker source, wonder if they would positively reply...
I will also check with Pitbull about the pickup cavities measurements ..

Trying to buy genuine Ric parts is either very expensive or almost impossible to source however from time to time 2nd hand bits and pieces do show up on eBay, still not cheap hence why there are plenty of aftermarket substitutes available but quite often at ridiculous prices for non-genuine gear.
Tend to think the PBG Ric kits come with standard Humbucker routing. A while back I had a serious look at doing RC1 and was leaning towards using Humbucker sized P90's with these ones looking more the part compared to Toneriders.... https://www.realparts.com.au/pickups...et-chrome.html

The RC-1 is routed for 'mini' humbuckers (see pic), though the body rout fpr each one doesn't look to be much narrower than a standard humbucker rout at all.
Dickybee007 used Allparts vintage single coil pickups with a chrome ring surround for his RC-1.

If you want to fit real Ricky pickups, then you're probably better off either getting a custom order and routing the cavities yourself, or filling in the cavities on a standard kit and finishing off in a solid colour, e.g. Jetglow black, to hide the filling.
