Looking great! That SCA must be quick to apply and a lot faster than what I’ve been up to. I might research this method.

    Ahhhhh, now I get it!

I thought maybe you were going for a bagged render kind of thing!!!

(great for brickwork, not so much guitars)

I did the 15 coats over 2 hours and this morning it's dry. I'm still going to let it sit for a week before blocking back though. Wiped with naptha (lighter fluid) then a tack cloth prior to first application. Then just waited the 20 mins between each block of 3 coats. Worked a treat.

    Here is the original post.

We should sticky this post - it's golden advice.

I’m familiar with phrozin’s work, he does damn fine work. Thanks for the link.

Still gassing off so hard to get a good photo, but I'm calling this decal well and truly buried.

I think I managed to get even less orange peel on this application than the body. The body only has a very fine orange peel, so shouldn't be a big job wet sanding up to mirror finish *fingers crossed.

Just try and keep the headstock (and body) off the cardboard as you'll get lumpy bits where the bottom of the headstock is sitting in the pool of clear.

Thanks Simon, everything is masked up/covered at the bottom when spraying clear

Even then, you may find some clear will leak in through the gaps, so it's best to stick to the principle of always keeping what you are spraying off the spraying surface.
