Witto - jumping on the TL bandwagon !

    That's it !
Can't put it off any longer... I'm jumping on the Tele wagon ! (The flying V can wait !)

Well, my first three efforts have turned into actual guitars. (not firewood or unplayable wall art)...

Looking forward to starting afresh now that 2019 has truly kicked in, and itching to get going on the TL-1.
I kind of had in mind a deep blue, but looking at all the new Tele threads starting, this talk of paisley has really got my attention !

Here are my three so far ..

Darn. Made good progress and had a really nice looking body ready for top coating. Been resting it for over two weeks. Put a mist coat of clear Nitro followed by a heavier coat after 30mins. Came back an hour later and.. Crap! All color eaten off the sides and even areas of the Paisley print looking washed out and faded. I guess I should have gone with an acrylic gloss instead of Nitro on acrylic and printed paper.? Can't even take a photo as the camera still sees it as pink, but the naked eye just sees a faded, colorless, washed-out mess...

I don't think I can save this. Probably back to sanding back to wood again.

    Ouch.

Yes Acrylic Lacquer is usually safe over prints (as long as they are fully outgassed).

    Bugger!

Hard luck buddy, but if they are going to put guitar kits into the hands of the likes of you and I things will go wrong along the way. It won’t seem so bad once the problems are fixed and it’s all finished.
