Ok so the bridge pins are the same size as stock 12mm. Great, I thought. They will go straight in. Left them in the freezer and started tapping one in. It’s tight!!! Like waaaaaaay tight. The hole - I measured after starting this is 10mm

2mm of give in that sort of hole?? Not sure. I’m now really really nervous. Should I keep knocking it in?? Or try and get it out?

On the other hole should I file it out a little??? Advice please gang?

I've no idea on the bridge pins (other than thinking that a 2mm difference seems too large to me) but I just wanted to say that finish looks amazing!

2mm is way too much. About 1mm should be good. Being a mechanic, I've had to freeze and fit bearings and the like before. But that is metal to metal so there is no "give" in the materials. Wood allows more give as the fibers will crush more around the hole as you are fitting the post. I reckon between 0.5 and 1mm should be ok. Anything outside that and it could be too loose or too tight. Remember though, if it is too loose, you can always wrap the posts with plumbers tape, etc as a fix. Just try drilling in stages to get the best fit. I did it with my ES and got it right.

    Buggering bloody bridge pin buggers!!!

Ok I redrilled the holes. Pins I’m apart from one is not sitting flush still on the top side. I think this may be causing my issue a little. But it’s sooooooo frustrating.

The bridge holes are way out by at least 1mm. I’ve even drilled out the bridge holes by half a mm but the only way they fit is if the bridge pins are fully wound out which of course is not acceptable action wise. I could do with pulling the pin that’s not quite in and reaming that hole again but it’s never coming out now.....

    Thoughts??

Actually managed to get it on at the top and screw the pins down and force the bridge down. Getting somewhere!!!

I think that's pretty normal BG. Some are better than others from what I can gather. Frustrating, but you are getting there. At least it won't rattle from being too loose.
