Hi, First time posting to a forum in a LOOOOOONG time. I have just ordered the GR1 kit and hoping it should be with me between christmas and new year. I am not working between the holidays so it will be sitting on my desk awaiting my return with any luck. (Always more sure about ordering this to go to my work where they are signed in and there is always someone to sign for it) I am from Sheffield Uk, but work in Leeds.
A little about myself. I am a designer and photographer by trade I work in manufacturing for a company that hand builds classic jukeboxes (sound leisure) This is going to help as I have tonnes of people here to ask for advice on woodworking, electronics and the like - however its also going to be a curse... as i will have tonnes of people telling me what I did wrong!! I am a visual person I design these things not build them so im looking forward to getting my hands dirty on the build. Ive built things before - i restored a 62 vw beetle which this guitar will a little homage too. I Dj a lot of vinyl so I have built record boxes and painted them too. I am pretty handy with a spray gun and painting flakes and candies so this lil baby will be a mix of flakes and candies and stains. its going to be bling but subtle...
I will need help. Although I am a guitar player (ish) and I play in a band and record lots I am the sort of guy that gets a shop to look after my guitars - im lucky enough to have a n early 80s epiphone casino and a lovely taylor 12fret - so things like fretting and neck joints and bridge placements scare the bezeeeeejus out of me... so I'll need you guys for support and help.
Ive already got my eye on some pickups on sleezebay as well as a nice roller bridge. upgraded to gotoh tuners and a bone nut.
I will be starting a diary and some videos I hope once the kit comes.. thanks again.
