    Hollow body with Venetian cutaway

Hi, is a hollow body arch top with the rounded Venetian cutaway possible?

I guess so. I was thinking something a little more Gibson looking. But taking your suggestion on board, headstock could be modified etc to create what I had in mind. Thanks Simon.

I know it's got holes all over the place, but if you go for either a solid finish or dark edged sunburst most extraneous ones could be plugged and new holes drilled. Different tailpiece (no Bigsby), knobs and standard humbuckers and you've already lost the Gretsch look, even without modifying the headstock much.

With a custom order you could probably have it routed for P90s instead of humbuckers, if that was your preference. Despite what the PBG description says though, looking at the kit pictures it isn't fully hollow bodied, with a top to bottom block before the neck pickup and a similar block under the bridge. Because of that, I'm not sure that you could fit 3 P90s in there without routing deep into the neck pickup block and taking away a lot of the support that I'd assume the top needs.

I’d choose a neck pickup only. Ahhh it’s not hollow.

There may be a difference between current kits and the one in the PBG photo then. Might be worth dropping Adam an email to double check, and he may want to take some more photos for the web page if it's the case.

Routing a pickup hole on an archtop isn't straightforward though. It's held me up on the ESB-4 bass for ages.
