    Custom RCM-1 Kit for Sale

    For Sale- Custom RCM-1 kit.

So this kit I ordered for a mate to put together for him. We ordered this without the F hole and with it drilled for a standard stop piece rather than the trapeze.

Unfortunately we completely misunderstood the dimensions of the body and it isn’t at all what he wants size wise – he thought it would be much larger, in line with the bigger G style hollow bodies. Pretty annoying as this was a 3 month wait for the custom kit, I’ve also been holding off starting another one in prep for focusing on this :/

Anyway, after a bit of back and forth over the weekend he has decided not to go ahead with this build. As it’s a custom order I’m reluctant to send it back to Adam as it is technically what we ordered – just not quite what we were expecting. For reference here it is next to my Hagstrom which is very slightly wider than a Les Paul (It fits in a Les Paul case no worries)

The kit is very nice – mahogany neck and body. It has the ‘blackwood’ fret board which has replaced the rosewood option. It looks pretty good, there is a bit of cleaning up needed on one of the frets. I was going to seal it similar to a real Rickenbacker to hopefully avoid some of the issues others have had with it.

It has some small factory blemishes as do most of these kits, but nothing that will be a big problem to fix.
Comes with all the hardware etc – I haven’t even opened that pack.

There are a few pics here – let me know if you want to see anything else specifically, happy to put up more photos.
I am hoping to recover most of the cost of the kit which was $259 – but I will pay postage, or even deliver it if you are in my neck of the woods, so it will be the same as if you had ordered it directly from Adam.
I did think about buying it and completing it for myself, but I have 4 G style guitars already, so there isn’t really a gap for it to fill in my herd.
