    TL-51 relic

Well I have far too many projects on the go at once. To solve this problem I have decided to buy a couple more kits.
One of the new ones is the last PBG TL 51 kit, a thin bodied Tele with the thicker neck and 5 screw pickguard. I love the teleblaster I just finished and this will be my 'stock' Tele.
I have my seafoam green paint I was going to use on the teleblaster, it will go on this.
    Is the look I'm after...

Looking forward to getting that super thin old school fender finish and the authentic relic look which was so much fun on the frankenstrat.
I have a fender ashtray bridge and some Kluson knock off tuners which look ok.
I'm seriously not looking at getting into this until later in the year, as I have the SG and the LP rebuild to finish first........ as well as the mods on the RC4A....... so this thread might be quiet for some time!

FW would suggest continuing the relicing until all the SFG has been worn off.

Ha ha ha! Yes that would be an 'extreme relic'

Despite that green, it’s a pretty cool look. Look forward t seeing how it it comes up in the fullness of time.

On the other hand, it saves you the trouble of actually applying the SFG in the first place.

Righto, it looks like I got the very last TL51 kit. I bought it without hardware as there wasn't one left, but I have an ashtray bridge and most of the other bits needed.
Here's a comparison between the TLA body on the teleblaster I just finished and the new body for the TL51 body. It is a lot thinner than the stock Tele body, a really nice shape. The neck is also thicker.
Won't get started on this for a while, but couldn't resist a look!!!
