Ok first job, filling the wonky pre drilled ferrule holes on the back with some builders bog.

    Hmm, a couple of problems...
Fitting the neck, it's a wonderful fit in the body cavity so all good.
The neck plate is a long way off at an angle, so those need filling and re drilling
The pre drilled holes were squiffy, so I fixed them, but then found out the ones in the front are in the wrong place! They are at an angle and not in the centre of the body, so those need fixing too........

Even with a drill press, I'd still use the 'drill from both sides' method for the 4 inner holes to ensure a neat line of ferrules.

(You use the two outer holes that are drilled all the way through to position the bridge on the back for marking the four inner holes. Go 2/3 the way through from the front with those holes, then drill then about 1/2 way through from the back, so they hopefully meet up in the middle!). Don't forget to drill the larger holes for the ferrules to fit in afterwards while you've still got the drill press.

Headstock cut, and I have just dragged the now reliced Fender bridge out of the rusting pot!
