STR-1 JR Build for my daughter.

Kit #3 Arrived yesterday. And it's great timing because my daughter has been non stop asking when her kit would come. It's been on backorder for a little while and she doesn't know it has arrived yet.

So onto the requirements as requested by my new boss.
It has to be Pink or Purple and sparkly it also has to have her name on it somewhere as well as a unicorn.
Oh and it has to have a cool but girly name too.
I can only imagine what my face must have looked like while she was rattling off these requirements. Although if the laughter my wife was enjoying at the time is anything to go by I'd say I must have looked like I had just sucked on a lemon.
Anyway it's her guitar and I'm going to do my best to give her what she wants.
If I can pull it off hopefully it will be something that she will treasure for a long time.
There is a trade off though and that is basically if she wants all that she has to get her hands dirty and help me. And just maybe she might learn something.

You could always stick one of these on it.



Then paint it in some wild colours and say to your daughter - "well you did say you wanted a unique horn on it".

Now that would be different. I'm sure the plan will change again at some point she's 6 so im kind of expecting her to change her mind on some things.

So she's pretty happy with the kit, today was the first day she has seen it.
So we had a proper look through it and everything is there nothing missing.
So we did a little mock up and had a look.
Tomorrow we will check the scale length and start to get down to business.

Hey Waz ill get some measurements later and post them. Off the top of my head though the scale length is 22.5" or 527mm.

Any progress is good progress its been a little difficult trying to get my little one out in the shed with me because i only have her here every second weekend and i want her to have the experience of building it with me i got a sanding block in her hand for a while on the weekend so that's a start. I've been doing a little work on customising the scratch plate not sure if the unicorn will work on it I think it May look out of place so it may go on the body somewhere instead. I managed to get my daughter to choose a color so grape it is.
I've seen others have success with Rust-oleum so I'm going to try it myself and see how we go.
