    Adopted EX -A 'BLAM!'

Thanks to Tony I now have a second EX body to play with, this time a 6 string. I was going to do something different and try a comic book collage on the front. Does the brains trust out there have some hard one experience on what works and what doesn't? I was thinking to spray the images with varnish first then use a self leveling expoxy like on bench tops to seal it. Was thinking to do bindings on both sides to give it a nice edge and unsure to do stain burst or paint the back of the guitar. Up for suggestions or ideas. Obviously the sanding is not complete, and I was wondering if the tuner hole needs dowelling and redrilling, or cancan I get away with it?

Tuner holes alignment looks better than most and personally I wouldn't bother.
As for collage, Wokaboy did a beer label guitar a couple of years ago and there will be a build diary for it somewhere.

Had another thought....if you could somehow copy comic image and print on decal transfer paper that might be easier to work with.

Or collage what you want in AI or PhotoShop against the image of the gutar outline. You could then get that printed as a plan print by someone like Office works. one single layer to have to deal with.

Am I the only one looking at that sweet grain and thinking it would be sacrilege to cover it up?

Yeah I know the grain is nice, I did a stain on the bass version. I was thinking of maybe doing a dark red stain with burst on the back?

    Cheers, Mark.
Cheers Mark, that is just the sort of thing I had in mind. I am selling my whole comic collection, so I wanted to preserve some images of favourite ones, Punisher, Sin City, Marshal Law, Lobo, Slaine, Hulk, and a few more.

Ah Dude! You had me at Punisher, but Slaine was a nice blast from the past as well!
