    Yeah the Shoegazer is ash and is very heavy - it does make it a bit less likely to get picked up and played. At some point I'm going to pull it to bits and machine about 6 mm off the back of it for some weight reduction.

    That's about 10mins after applying it.

    I also want to add a middle s-type pickup. What's the best way to cut out the hole? I am thinking drill press with a forstner bit and a trimmer/router to tidy it up? The tricky part will be cutting out the hole in the pickguard I guess?

    Oh and the neck is close to being finished.
