I managed to scrape out enough wood in the control cavity for the switch to fit and I routed a little bit out with a laminate trimmer for the strat pickup to fit. I guess now I have to bolt the neck back on, attach the bridge after finding the correct position and find someones pedestal drill to drill my 6 ferrules through the body. Then it will be a matter of soldering the pickups and jack, string it and play.
I still have to sand a few areas and re-polish too.
Still a long way to go.

I discovered one design fault/ oversight. I can't fit the pick guard with the middle pickup fitted with the neck on. So when I do the final assembly, I'll have to fit all the electronics etc and then put the neck on last. I don't think there is any way around it as the guard goes under the end of the neck and the middle pickup is too close to the back. I might be able to cut a bit out, but I am not sure if it will make a difference if I do? I am also considering cutting a tad out of the bridge cavity. The pickup fits, but I would like a few mm more wriggle room. I am at the stage of measuring and screwing down the bridge.

It’s only really an issue if it doesn’t work once you’ve strung it up. Some guitars you have to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod. Now that makes no sense.

Ermm......some setbacks.
Screwing the bridge in yesterday, I broke the soft Chinese screw and got myself into a bind.
So I had to slice around the hole until it was deep enough to get pliers onto it. In the process I also sliced my fingers in a few places and I also put a slice into the body. I did have tape down but not enough in the early stages. So even more body repairs before I even have it together!!
It did eventually come out and amazingly I managed to keep it hidden under the bridge.
We'll see what happens after the timbermate dries.

That’s a shame but at least it’s hidden. My Tele is Frankenstein’s monster under the bridge plate.
You really need to do good pilot holes and put some candle wax on the thread, even with good hardware, but especially with the kit screws.
