They are still just polishing foam pads. So the way they are designed is that if you pull back you have less surface area so less aggressive and if you press down you get more surface area and harsher polishing.
At least that's the way I understand it/

The next dangerous trick is to mark out the middle pickup and start cutting.
Babicz sent me the longer screws for the bridge to get the intonation correct without having to mod the pickup cavity and mod the pickguard, but they only sent me 4 springs that actually don't even fit over the screws! So, I cut down the 3 springs from the original bridge and found 3 other springs from the pickups I think from another build. I hope this will work? They only really need to provide tension to push them forward right? I am hoping that it is not an exact science which requires perfect spring length, thickness and tension.
It is really starting to look like a guitar now even though there are still quite a few more things to do.

It cost pretty much more than the guitar kit, so I hope it's worth it? Custom built in the USA James Burton style switch plate. All the good stuff including S1 switch to get middle and parallel switching.
However, there is one slight issue........it doesn't fit into the hole!
I'll have to get the Dremel out and widen the hole where the S1 switch is. Nothing is suppose to be easy.

Nice looking harness I’m sure it will contribute to the tone. You may also need to adjust the depth of the control route, you’ll find out once the width is sorted

Yes Andrew I do. I have widened the hole and I bought a chisel today at work and tomorrow I'll take a tad off the bottom. It seems it only needs 2-3mm
Today, I managed to cut the middle pickup hole out of the pickguard. What a terrifying ordeal that was! It isn't perfect, but it's not a bad job. Lots of dremel, sandpaper and mini files. I will drill the 2 x holes for the pickup tomorrow too. Too tired right now. LOL

LOL. I fitted the middle pickup to the pickguard tonight and it seems to fit quite nicely
I need to route out the cavity on the body a bit now as the strat pickup won't fit! It is touching the top edge of the inside of the cavity. When I routed out the body to fit the middle pickup, I just followed the cutout of the neck pickup and of course the strat pickup is wider than the tele one. It is such a close difference. I think I'll end up just notching out just that spot.Ah well, almost there.
