Mainstream media seem to love the more sensational doom & gloom stories thinking it will attract a broader audience and as a result I no longer watch much free to air tv news anymore. At least online you can see a headline, filter the content, and make a decision whether to delve a bit deeper into that particular story or topic.

Sadly there aren't too many feel good stories reported on a day to day basis.
