Have you checked the neck angle, Waz? On mine, the neck site far better in the pocket and the neck angle is fine. On yours, the way it's fitting means that the neck angle is shallower. So before you go too far, I'd check you've got enough height for the bridge to fit without a silly high action. You may have already done this and it looks like you should be OK from the photos, but worth a check if you haven't.
Thanks Simon. Triple checked every angle and measurement and looking pretty good so far. Scale length was perfect and break angle looks like it will provide a decent action high up the neck. Truth moment will be when it is fully setup but feeling pretty confident at this point in time.
Had to sand out the inner corners of PUP holes to provide enough clearance for them to sit properly but only other rough bit was the 'floor' of neck pocket. Nervously sanded the worst of it and thankfully didn't drop too much in height, maybe less than 0.5mm. Easy to take too much off as that centre block is made from extremely soft wood.
