That's very interesting! DO you just play the blowtorch over it until you get the desired effect? Or is it more complex than that?

It depends on the wood. Maple is a lot harder, so i have to go slower and hold the flame a bit closer. For; ash, basswood, white poplar, alder, mahogany, zebrawood and paulownia...Its pretty much the same distance and timing in the movement forward of the flame til i get the desired effect. Then once all done, i go over the bits i am not satisfied with, thats when its a bit more complex. Kinda like airbrushing with a flame and shading with fire.

i actually seen a guy on YouTube try to do a flame maple les paul that way you done a good job the other guy trashed a lovely piece of maple
