Daver’s RCm-1 first build

I’m trying my mock build and having some troubles. After a number of attempts, I think I’ve found the center line which I need so I can attach the trapeze bridge.

So, I’ve attached the trapeze but it appears to be crooked! I could not keep both the low e and the high e in the saddles at the same time.

The instructions show the pale and the tailpiece as 2 separate parts, but mine are joined together. Is this correct.

Also the screw posts on the tailpiece are not level with each other. The left post is lower than the right. Neither is straight.

I looked at a couple of completed RCm-1’s, but they had completely different trapeze bridges.

Any ideas and help is appreciated.
