Just waiting on a 3 way switch, pickup screws/springs and some strings to test this (RGA7) badboy out.
No back plates as yet, Pablopepper, wondering what beer or otherwise you might like? may be asking very kindly bout a custom made one.
As for the strat body, seriously been looking at the swirl paint techniquies on youtube

    cheers

Got the RGA7 wired and stringed up and done the intonation to best of my ability. The active EmG's 707s sound good, quite heavy which i guess is as per design. still need back plates and v/t knobs to complete
The neck action is so sweet for all my ametuer 6 string skills , but still unsure how I benefit from this 7th string thingy, finding it kinda weird tbh.

So anyway, this ibanez rga7 now looks to be a metal beast and unsuited to me or my lad. We will get the backplate sorted and hopefully flip it for a nice electric/acoustic.

PS , wasnt and shouldnt be in the PBG build diary as ; (a) its non PBG and (b) it wasnt like a real build apart from some screwing/soldering/slight drilling etc - mods - should be moved to non pbg

    regards

Pretty cool guitar. I also struggle with anything other than the usual number of strings on a guitar or bass, drives me crazy.

Hi all, interested in any external feedback re; my RGA7. finding it hard to get any idea of the value anywhere on the net. its cost me 325 for the body, neck with tuners and included a new gibralter standard bridge, i then bought pups new -emg 707's for 185, modded the battery box and wiring to inclue a tone pot, bought a new 3 way switch and am currently making new back plates from 3mm acrylic which cost me just over 20. still waiting on 2 nickel/black chrome knobs. hope i havnt allready spent more than its worth. im not aiming to make anything out of it but considering flipping it to get other kits and parts more to my liking. all thoughts appreciated.
    cheers Guvna

They look to be in the vicinity of $500 on eBay. They were around $890 new. At $500 you'd make most of your money back, just depends on finding the right buyer like anything else.
