I think that will be one of my investments in the future is a decent amp. I only have a pig nose, I guess as I知 learning it will do for now. I have heard you get a decent amp and it can make most average guitars sound awesome.

The amp isn't regarded as terribly spectacular (it's a Vox Pathfinder 10) but it certainly
performs well enough to get a decent sound happening.
Also probably helps that the bridge pickup is a Tonerider Hot Classic.

    cheers, Mark.

Should start uploading a 'job-lot' of ten thumbed tone deaf talentless noise pollution.

I'm using it set to Tonerider bridge pickup throughout.

    cheers, Mark.

Thanks Glynn. It highlights how strange my brain works.
I spent the whole day on learning just the 'B' string with 'find the note'

On day 2 I did the same with 'G' string..

When I revisited the 'B' string I discovered that 'G' string had erased my memory of it.

    Back to the drawing board.

    cheers, Mark.

After some careful (rash) decision, I've had a rethink of the scratch plate.
This leaves me with enough spare hardware for another Tele.

As I usually trial them out of MDF, and been concerned with longevity...
I have searched for ways to seal/prime it.
    This was the result...

The aim is to avoid water-based primer as water has an adverse effect on MDF.
I'll see how it goes and perhaps use it instead of a spray type primer on guitar bodies later.

    cheers, Mark

FWIW, just straight shellac works great for sealing MDF.

Get some unwaxed shellac flakes and mix a 1-pound cut (1:1 ratio - eg 100g flakes to 100ml methylated spirits).

You can mix up as little or as much as you want/need.

    Hey thanks for the tip!

Doh!! Had a tub of shellac flakes sitting on the shelf for donkeys years.
    cheers, Mark.
