Thread: STA-1MH The King's first PB kit.

  1. #1

STA-1MH The King's first PB kit.

Due to my 'project' strat copy being reluctantly sold, it's time to order my first Pitbull kit.

I had the new paint scheme sorted out and plans on converting it into a Tele/Strat monstrosity were
    well on the way.

This will circumvent the process of filling in the tremelo cavity.
I will be re-deploying the Squier Telecaster pickup/bridge.

Looking forward to overcoming trials and tribulations, and will attempt to document with photographic evidence.

    cheers, Mark.

    cheers John.
As I'm awaiting the delivery, I've already ascertained a couple of basic alterations.
May even retain the standard bridge as yet but time will tell.Click image for larger version.

Hi Andy. I'll take that as vote of confidence in it then.
With this build I'll initially focus on getting it set up and playing before any mods/finishes etc.

    cheers, Mark.

With just two pickups I'd go for the Tele bridge arangement. I think a Tele bridge pickup just sounds a lot better than a Strat bridge pickup.

I know the Strat bridge+neck sound is nice (I can get it on one of my Strats), it's more like how I think a Strat bridge pickup should sound, but I'm never that keen on the Strat bridge pickup on its own.

Yep, number 2 for me as well but with a Tele bridge pup rather than a Strat one

Thanks for the input chaps. Yes as it's a tele-strat that I'm aiming at, the tele pickup/bridge is winning.
Slight change in colour plan though.

Now I've still got to decide whether Tele or Strat headstock (I'm not going to entertain any custom shape)
edit: however I'm once again leaning toward 'Telecaster'.
    cheers, Mark.

Good lad, might as well do the hybrid thing properly

A Tonerider Hot Classic bridge pup is a mighty fine thing unless you want to spring for some Harmonic Design or Budz pups
