...I'm not sure I understand the question, but I'll take a stab

If you are producing commercial guitars you can apply trademark to unique design aspects. There is a fair cost involved and a pretty extensive process. It is also on you to police anyone ripping you off. If you are serious you should talk to an Lawyer specialising in intellectual property. The exact ins and outs will vary depending on what country you are in and international trademarks are a pretty big deal and not even that easy to enforce - see China. This is largely why the copy cat kit guitars exist and also why Gibson is so rabid about it.

Patenting applies more to novel solutions than straight design - like if you found a better design for tuning machines you could patent that - or like on the Babicz bridge systems, their locking cam adjustment system is patented.

In my experience you would be extremely unlikely to come up with a design that there isn't something very close to already anyway, this area is very well trodden earth.

It would probably be quicker and cheaper to experiment with making your own neck TBH.
I’m not sure the custom order process would produce what you want, even assuming Adam would be able to get the factory to understand your specifications. If it isn’t based on something they already do, they seem to struggle.

    Do you have a design?
what materials do you want to make it from?
What scale length do you want?
    How many strings?
    Fretted or fretless?

Forgive the questions, I’m actually just genuinely curious as to what you had in mind.

i just need the headstock changed to my design, everything else will be the same neck as you regularly make, for a 4,5,6 string bass guitar.

Short answer- probably not. I have experience with this and it is not as straight forward as you may assume.

Besides, the necks are available with blank paddle head stocks so you can just shape it to your design yourself.
