Same for me when I was travelling up to London each day.
Same for me when I was travelling up to London each day.
Yeah, I was driving from Ngunnawal to Tuggeranong, so I was literally driving from one end of town to the other, with two school drop offs on the way and morning traffic to contend with. If I got there in an hour I was lucky, but an hour and a half was more normal, so three hours a day in a car. It wasn't great

So I somehow managed to sand through the finish AGAIN. There are no words to describe the frustration.

There are loads of four letter-ones, and I used those a lot yesterday myself. You probably heard me.
It is frustrating. Nothing I did yesterday worked well.
Ha ha ha, yes I must admit there were quite a few four letter ones.
Having taken a few deep breaths and thought about it for a bit it's actually probably for the best. There were a few things I wasn't happy about with the finish anyway, and while it is very time consuming to strip it again I'm still working from home until July so I have some extra time and it means I can hopefully fix those issues.

I'm actually really glad I've had to strip this, as it's shown me what a terrible job I did the first time. All the areas that I was having issues with were the first to sand down, and were obviously raised. Since I first sanded this kit I've invested in a very flat work surface and a straight edge, and so now I've also found the right hand side of the back is dipped quite substantially.

I've ordered more tru oil and some Aquacoat, so hopefully this weekend I can get this sanded down and actually flat, and can get the whole thing rolling again.

Very curious what your experience with Aquacoat are going to be, I'll def. get some grain filler for my next build, too.
I don't know what I'm doing but I hope I will end up with a guitar
John I feel your pain. My kit tele was just as frustrating. Maybe one day I'll go back and redo it, although to be honest I'm considering offloading it because I have other scratch builds planned and it taunts me everytime I look at it because I never got the finish right. Plays ok though.
