    Does the neck need to be attached to the body for fret levelling?

    Sounds like a straightforward question, but I can't find it answered here anywhere.
    It would obviously be a lot more convenient if it doesn't!

    Personally, I reckon it makes it easier to do fret-leveling work if the neck isn't attached to the guitar.

    I thought that should be the case but I didn't want to find out the hard way that I was wrong!
