Thanks. It’s paint with a couple of layers of clear coat for the gloss. Sorry for the multiple pics, but as you can see I had trouble posting them.

Never apologise for posting lurid guitar finish porn Liam. We're all good with it.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

Came up great! Did you use one of those 'marble effect' rattle cans? I used one for a guitar pedal I built and had tonnes of fun spraying it - I loved watching it scatter out as it sprayed. I ended up ditching mine though, as it turns out it's impossible to screenprint over, and I wanted to use it for effects pedals which were to have screenprinted text on top. Neat effect though, and I'm always surprised I don't see it being used more often

Hi John, I did use a can. Dulux marble effect I think. It comes out if the can almost like string.

Some people recommended I add mine, so here we go:

DM-1S - Danish oil finish, gloss on the back and sides of the body, satin on the spalted maple top, with walnut stain on the back and sides of the body to bring the maple out. The neck is also Danish oil - smooth satin finish on the playable part, blending to gloss at the neck joint and headstock. I wanted a old-school-meets-modern vibe, so I thought the combination of old-fashioned wood finish with satin maple and blacked-out hardware would complement each other nicely.

Hardware is a Wilkinson bridge and tuners, and a Tonerider Hot 90 for the pickup. Nut is still stock, with a bit of lubrication it works fine. The interior cavities are fully copper shielded. The neck plate and strap lugs are nicked from my old Martin Stinger superstrat.

I can't stop playing this guy! The P90 is giving my noise gates a workout, but I love the unique sound you get using a P90 for metal tones. Also it's the first time I've had a scale this short, so it's fun playing with some of the stretchier chords, and feels impossibly relaxed after noodling around on the 8-string for a while.
