    Stock hardware or upgrades?

    Hiya guys,

When I order my TL kit (I have one of the newer GTL kits in mind), I'll likely upgrade pickups to Toneriders and the tuners to mini locking rotomatics.

I'm also considering upgrades such as a Wilkinson string through body bridge and maybe other 3rd party wiring components.

My question is, am I right to assume that it's not worth clicking the 'I don't need hardware' option? Couldn't things like plate and pick guard screws, neck plate etc easily cost what I'm saving anyway? How have you more experienced builders dealt with this?

    Thanks for your advice!

    Derek.

Hi Derek, Last time I spoke to Adam about not getting the hardware on a custom order special I picked, it was only going to save me about $30. Just as easy to get it, that way you get to have a look and upgrade what you don't fancy.

Ordering and allparts pickguard for example, would cost you that anyway.
