    Hullo Fellow Guitar Friends

    I am coming back to jazz guitar playing after many years away. Currently play keyboards in recent times. So glad to find this site so I can finally own all the dream guitars I have lusted over. My first will be an ES-5V.

    In the past I has a Gibson ES-125 (played by Joe Pass on one of his trips to Melbourne), Maton Starline 7 string, Ibanez Artist ES-175 copy and Maton CW80 acoustic - I miss them so much now. Should never have sold them.

    I live in Melbourne and would love to do some jams once I get my chops back. I used to play in a jazz Duo with the Maton 7 string and another guy on flute and sax - just like George Golla and Don Burrows only maybe not so good lol.

    I hope to have delivery of my ES-5V kit in the new year - very excited.

    I have no issues with the electronics but will need some help on the finishing but should be all good fun.

    A jazz player eh? Maybe you could post a 'chord of the week' as I'm certain you will know hundreds I have never heard of!

    Wow, a Maton Starline 7 string! Didn't they only make 7 of these? If so I can see why you miss it and regret it's sale. Oh and welcome aboard.

    G'day Steve. Sounds like an excellent plan.
    I did get to see Joe Pass once at the Perth concert hall when he did a duo with Oscar Petersen.
    Never did much jazz on the guitar (swapped it for saxophone in my teens) but now in later life I'm back to the grind.

    Welcome Steve. I saw Burrows & Golla a few times when I was a kid. Back when I was a child clarinet player, so I didn't pay enough attention to George. His 7 string Maton was a beast though.
