    RCA-4 Truss rod cover

    Hi all.

Today I received my Christmas present to myself, and am a little disappointed to learn that the truss rod cover isn’t as advertised. What I got was a trapezoid black cover instead of the traditional Rickenbacker style as shown.

I am hoping to have forumite Pablopepper create me a custom one, but need the dimensions to forward to him.

A Google search found some drawings, but sadly they don’t match the size of the headstock:

I don’t suppose anyone out there has one they can measure/trace for me?

Many thanks in advance! Can pay in afterlife beer and whisky 🥃

    Hello mate,
The headstock is certainly smaller than the OEM one. When I did my custom RCA4 I laser cut a new control cover, pickup mounts and truss rod cover in 3mm acrylic and 3mm ply. The truss rod cover is the correct shape and size for your headstock.
The link to my build in below in the signature.
I used the acrylic parts, but was planning on staining the ply and using them instead originally. When the stain looked crappy I binned the pickup covers, but I have just found the other parts pictured laying on the top shelf under a layer of dust. I also have the original white scratch plate. You can have the lot, either you can paint and badge this truss rod cover or use it as a template to cut one from my scratch plate to match your plate.
PM me with your address and I'll pop them in the post if you want them.Click image for larger version.

    Hi Jeff

If you don't take Andyxlh up on his kind offer here are a pic and tracing (with ruler for scale) of my unused trc from a build a couple of years ago. I expect they would still be the same dimensions.
