    Looking very nice there vh.

I'm not a big humbucker player, but I've played enough to know I prefer open more than covered. To my ears they have a bit more high end. (due to the extra capacitance the covers add as I understand it)

But from just a "looks" perspective, I think the open look better on that guitar. More contrast.

    "chrome" would be my choice.
Which means the punters will pile in with the other option.

    cheers, Mark.

I prefer the open coil look here. Just looks more like a PRS, as they do have open coils fitted to most of their output.

Finally finished, and finally happy with the setup after 12 months.
Again it’s a pity these kits weren’t able to be at a price point that would make them part of the normal offering as they make a fantastic guitar.

Used the bridge and tailpiece that came with kit.
    Gregory (Searls) pickups
    Gotoh tuners
    Bone nut

The Tru oil has taken a bit of the Blue out with a bit of age and hasn’t left the natural binding effect light coloured but still happy overall with the colour.

Will be the last guitar with the Big Mac moniker as asked the question and was politely told no go, so now looking for a new name.
Currently thinking Mac Mor Guitars (Gaelic for Big Mac).

I had forgotten about this one! I had to go back through the thread and refresh my memory .

I didn't realise that the original post was actually before I joined! Looks great.

I like those pickup surrounds. Where'd you get them? I've seen any like it before.
