One question I have for you folk, I desperately want to put the strap button on the top horn, but I want to know if anyone else has done so with a PBG hollow body before.

I don't know. I've seen one FS-1 kit picture with a strap button on the upper horn, but there's no saying whether it's on securely or not. All depends whether the kit has a wooden block up there. I wouldn't use the plywood thickness alone.
Have you got a small mirror and torch you can use to try and see what's up in that corner? Or maybe just tapping the wood and see if it sounds less hollow than the lower bout?
I’ve tried as best I can to look up there. It seems the centre block might curve up there, but I can’t be certain.
My father in law was a dentist and probably had a small mirror I could use to look, but he’s unfortunately in Scotland, and worse yet, six feet below the surface.

I bought a small inspection mirror just for this purpose for use on acoustic guitars, but it's probably not small enough to get in an F-hole and rotate it in all directions. Look an eBay and you should find some dental mirrors. There are very cheap ones from China - but delivery could take some time. But I could find ones that were local to me and cost around $4, though the choice in Australia may be more limited. In fact I've just ordered one so I have one for just this type of thing (as I've got an ES-1 and ES-4B coming in November).
Lovely work Jeffo! How does it sound?

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
Really nice. The Lace Alumitone pups are squeaky clean.
I wasn’t prepared for the shorter sustain that hollow/semi-hollow bodies offer.

yup.. i have.. and while i do think it's sturdy enough i still don't recommend it. i think i may change it on mine.
the thing is.. because of the curved back it's going to hang away from you on the bottom which to me plays a bit weird.. though it may reduce neck drop a bit
btw i was actually pleasantly surprised by the sustain on mine
So, I stripped the Yeah/Nah of all her electronics and resoldered again. Sooooo much better and happier. Feeling like a pro now!!
I guess this concludes my build diary!!
Thanks for all the tips and advice guys. I literally couldn’t have done it without you guidance!

I was considering uploading a video of her plugged in and roaring, however I am pretty self conscious about my ability (or lack there of).
I know it’s a friendly, non-judgemental and encouraging environment here on the forum, but I think I’ll wait till my virtuoso mate comes and takes her for a spin, and record him in lieu!
Couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Lovely work!
Just started playing with a Lace Alumatone BassBar and it has a cracking sound so I imagine your's really would roar!
