FV-1G Custom Kit (1st Pitbull kit build)

So earlier this year I placed an order for a customized FV-1G kit with the following specs:
    • mahogany body
      spalted maple body veneer
      mahogany neck
      set neck joint
      chrome hardware
      no pickups

A few weeks ago I got the news from Adam that the factory got all the changes right except for the neck joint and sent me a photo of the kit to see if I would still want it at a very fair discount for the factory error.

After one look at the spalted beauty there I told him to send it across the Pacific post haste. I would have been to sad to see it offered up as a forum special deal.

Nice looking kit.. I'm sure others would have liked to see it as a forum special deal.. can't wait to see it complete..

You going with a clear finish on that beauty?

Yes I'll be going with a clear finish on it. I'm thinking of using a walnut grain filler on the mahogany to get the back and neck a touch darker but I haven't completely settled on that yet.

That's a great Spalt top, I'm so glad you took it otherwise It may have ended up at my house!

Yes I wouldn't want to be an enabler of anyone's GAS.

That is a very, very nice spalted top. Looks like an unblemished stripe down the middle which ties it all together really well. Would be a shame to cover too much of it with scratch & jack socket plates.

Agreed Waz, it almost looks like it was made as a neck thru with that stripe or a multilam body.. gonna look killer..
