Ok. So after having my conscience prodded by @Sonic Mountain yesterday. I dug this guy out.
The damage isn't as bad as i'd first feared. It is simply a case of the neck attachment screws being too long (by about 8mm).
The board has only lifted a little, so I've prised up the corner and squeezed a little thin CA through it and clamped it back down.
We shall see how it all goes. Pics to follow.
