Red face Twobeers here from Toronto, Canada

About me, I am 61 going on 14. Besides being a guitar player my trade is commercial & industrial electronics. I have been playing guitar for awhile, let me see now, dag nab it. I ran out of fingers & toes to count on. No seriously, I have been playing for about 47 yrs. I bought a Pitbull LP-1S. Les Paul style with a bolt on neck & the Gold Grover upgrade machine heads. This will be my 4th guitar build. I will mount the machine heads, neck, tail pieces, put a set of my favorite Elixer Nanoweb strings on it & see how it behaves. If like it I will then strip the back off of it & proceed to route out the area's I need to route to mount a complete Graph Tech Ghost system along with a pair of Lace Alumitone coil splitting humbuckers wired up with a 50's Jimmy Page wiring scheme. All 4 pots are push/pull & give a possibility of 20 different pick up configurations on the humbuckers alone. And then you can throw in anything I can conger up with a Roland GR-55 guitar synth. I will finish the body & neck with a Minwax Coffee stain (dark chocolate) & possibly seal it all in with a Bar & Table 2 part clear epoxy. Maybe. Lets wait till the kit arrives first.

Hi Twobeers and welcome. Going to be a very flexible guitar if you can get it all working. I find a lot of those 21 different pickup combinations aren't that useful or different sounding. I use the coil taps and occasionally the two pickups out-of-phase for some Peter Green numbers.

Just be aware that Lace recommend 250k pots for their Alumitone Humbuckers, so you'll need to make your own loom up rather than buy a ready-made one which will almost certainly have 500k pots in.

    Good luck with your build!

    Welcome TwoBeers.

Probably a story behind the forum name? Plenty of beer drinkers on the forum too.

Always keen to follow an innovative wiring setup and can't wait to see and hear what you do.
