Yeah, the markets are great! They also have a food/farmers market in there on Fridays which is pretty neat, and every now and then a beer festival. We have staff access straight into the market, which gets used approximately twice a year - always strangely coincident with the beer festival...

Not quite sure where the Megalo Print Studio is and not planning any visits in the near future.

Wow.. Megalo.. had a bit to do with Megalo back in the late 90s when it was in Ainslie..
Had more to do with Studio One when it was in the old archive building in Kinston, a friend of mine Deborah Perrow was one of the original movers and shakers at Studio One.
Deb used to print for the late Jörg Schmiesser, Udo Selbach, Rover Thomas and a heap of other formost printmakers...
Man is it a small world....
Wonder if it is the same Albion press that we used, it was an absolute beauty.

DB, you were at Studio One? Crazy! Definitely the same Albion. We also have one of Jorg's old etching presses. Studio One liquidated and all the equipment was moved over to Megalo in 2000 (I think?). Deb's name is one I've heard countless times, but I've never had the good fortune to meet her.

Pretty sure it was around 2000 that Studio One was rescued by Megalo..
Yeah, Deb is a well known and highly respected printmaker, sadly her health has pretty much put an end to her printmaking. Sad really as she made some amazing images and was one of the top edition printers of her generation.
Last time I saw her she was concentrating on collage and painting.
Well worth the effort to try and make her acquaintance if possible, not sure if she is able to get out and about much these days but you could learn so much from her.

Sounds like she has succumbed to the print chemicals, as all old school printers do eventually. I spend half my life trying to convince people that the OHS stuff isn't just me being an arse, or part of some kind of nanny-state mentality. No one takes me seriously, but I've met too many old printmakers who are seriously ill, or who have lost all their friends to their trade. It's sad.
I'll look her up though. It's always nice to connect with people who share an interest and who have all those years of experience.
