Dingo tone finish on flame maple

Hi DB, I recently purchase a left hand flame maple LP kit from you guys and also bought some Uluru Red stain from you as well, Upon opening the kit and assembly I noticed that the maple top has a lot of small grooves in the grain and sanding doesn't seem to eliminate the majority. Will applying the stain in the process you have demonstrated with three steps will that eventually fill the grain like a sealer?

Hey SJDavis, don't worry too much about the small pits in the flame maple grain. DON'T sand the veneer much as they are about 0.6mm thick and are very easy to sand through. Once you have applied the stain, intensifier and final coats these small pits won't be visible and you should have a smooth flat finish

no worries SJD, you can pop the flames with a darker colour. If you do, apply a black stain and sand it back with about a 320 grit paper. Don't do any pre-sanding. Then apply the uluru red and you will have an awesome affect with the black flames.
