Thanks Pest and KB, the more the better
If BG does the backing track and you guys assemble and clean it up, that would be cool

At uni we will start something very similar soon but more hip-hop inspired.... And we are talking like 70 people all up, where we have no backing track, just a simple beat and the key / tempo, letting all of the rappers do their business and the instrumentalists shining behind them!!

I'm really keen for both projects to take off!

The backing is underway. I will upload it once completed with just the rhythm section parts and another version with my noodlings over it. It'll be a little quicker at 104 bpm (100 sounds a bit mechanical) and with a swing feel. Key of Gmaj with some jazzy altered chords towards the end. Mind you, if the votes come in with different results it'll be no major issue to transpose and re-tempo.

    Stay tuned!

Haha...very Spinal Tapish.....and to make it more interesting, we could then modulate to a major key that D minor is the relative minor of, and then go to an I, IV,V vamp just to give it some spice, and then, to be a bit more exotic, we could then go to something in a Myxolydian, or maybe a Dorian mode based on the key of D....whichever sounds more jazzy.

I'm assuming that implies an I,IV,V groove in the key of G if we're going with a 12-Bar Blues thing.

    Where's my Bb option though!!

I might join in when the time comes, I'll see how I feel about my playing and setup and stuff haha. I'll definitely keep an ear out to hear what people do with it either way

If we modulate from G Major to G Harmonic Minor, then Bb will be one of the notes in the G Harmonic Minor scale, that is if I'm not mistaken.

The other possibility is G Aeolian, third note in the scale is Bb, if I'm not also mistaken.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong.
