Making slow progress with this. It’s got 4 coats of SCA clear on it now. Looking back I cannot fathom why I didn’t coat the board in the first place.

The broken section isn’t invisible, I’ve re-radiused the board to 12” to help minimise it. We are chalking this up to character.

I’m going to take a pause here to consider the HS logo. I’m considering something a bit more like the roundel I did in my “Build for a Mate” Strat. I think it will fit better with the new ethos on this one.
I’ve got to re-fret, most likely with medium jumbo nickel silver, though I do have some super jumbo hanging around.

Next phase is going to be finishing up the body mods and reconsidering the pickups. I’m contemplating a pairing of a Tui neck and a Cloud 9 hb bridge (https://mrglynspickups.com).

I also want to see if I can get the mounting plate done out of the titanium plate I originally bought for it.

I’m sure we’re all in the same boat with these things. From time to time we simply don’t have time to make any headway.
Thankfully I found/made some time to progress this reimagining a little further.

By now you’ll all be familiar with my distaste for things projecting outward from body lines.

It’s not the best quality plate, but it serves the purpose. I promise the optics here are just camera angle.

    Fretty, fretty, shiny, shiny.

Work begins on the pup mounting plate, we will be replicating the Perspex one, but possibly in brass or stainless as the titanium is a B*tch to work with.
At the very least I will need some upgraded drill bits and saw blades.

    Looking good Frankie.
I understand 'slow going". My recent "re-imagining" took much much longer than I anticipated, and it's still not really done as I'm not happy with the way the finish turned out. It's back together and playing, but not technically done.

Going back to your 26/03/22 post, you said you re-radiused the board to 12". If it was a PBG neck, wasn't it already 12?

Ah yes, it probably was, before the little whoopsie with the inserts. The subsequent repair left it a little out of sorts at the heel end, hence having to get that end of the board back to 12" Rad. TBH I don't remember having to go further up the board than about 12th fret to fix things up.
