I would suggest Colortone black personally, though I use Colortone for everything (except blue). Easy to control the intensity and the fade. It's water based so you can draw the colour back out of the top while leaving it in the figure. My 2c .

I'm not familiar with the Colourtone range Gav, is that an Automotive product?

Colourtone is available from our buddies at Stewmac..
It is rather expensive tho, so unless you are a prolific builder like our Gav it is a bit of a waste...

Having said that, I am in the process of sourcing water soluable dyes so you guys can get your sweaty hands on them for a price that won't cause Her Indoors to flip out and threaten to remove your daddy pills

Well, personally yes. But I'm on to build 20-odd and most builds used dye in some form or another. If you are going to keep building it's an investment.

It was always going to be black Andy, it's just that the unexpected veneer has thrown a total blackout plan into flux while I agonise over a trans burst or similar.

I hear ya man. Luckily I have a man-cave that is not connected to the rest of the house so I can fill it up without too much push-back. The bank account is another issue, and that's where a little more creativity is required .
