    Stringing

I'm having trouble with my strings breaking at the nut or tuning mech. I've checked for burrs etc and am finding no obvious reason for the strings to break but they are still breaking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Flyhog, if you could tell us what guitar/nut/tuners you are using and maybe upload some pics, that might help! Cheers.

Ok so i think the lacquer from my other build must have gotten to my brain because i was tuning too high and it was popping the strings due to too much tension. I should've known better, but after stepping away and coming back to the guitar and trying again i noticed i was thinking to the next E above the standard tuning.

Hahaha, that'll do it! Pretty sure I've done the same thing once or twice.

I'm sure that I've done that too at some stage, so you're not alone.
