Greg that's a beautiful guitar. The Karajini Red on the quilt and natural on the back and sides really compliments each other. You have got to be proud for a first build, took your time, overcame some pretty difficult adversities and came out on top. Good on you mate, well done.

    Upgrade Necessary

Eighteen months since I finished this guitar and I don't know where the time has gone. Too many other things like selling a yacht and some caravan touring.

Anyway this is the story of the photo below.

As this was my was my first guitar build you can imagine the ignorance with which it was completed. The main issues were that I did not dress the fretboard and wired the electrics in a mirror image. It played fine but the knobs worked in reverse.

After using the guitar for a few moths I realised I has two particularly high frets causing buzz and a high action. This caused me tp put the guitar away as it annoyed me more and more.

I had to fix the electrics so I decided to upgrade the pots, add Tonerider AC2 Classics and dress the fretboard. I also polished the finish with car polish. I hadn't polished it previously as it look great but the TruOil dulled more than I was expecting.

I am pleased with the job, love the Toneriders although I am a rank amateur player, there is no fret buzzing and intonation at excellent.

So now on with the next project TBA shortly.

Good story Greg, one i am sure many forum members can relate to. I certainly can as you learn so much with each and every subsequent build.
