    JB-5M Build

    Hey Guy's,

This is my first time build. Just finished the body in Nullarbor Ochre, I'm now putting on the finish coat. It's looking good so far. I forgot to order the neck finishing kit. DB suggested to use Bloodwood which I have ordered. Question: the kit has a maple fretboard, do I put the bloodwood and the neck finish topcoat on the fretboard?

Probably best to leave the fretboard unfinished and just do the back of the neck, if you want you could try putting Dingowax on the fretboard.

What doc said, tape off the fingerboard and apply your finish to the back of the neck. then when its all dry and shiny and cool, you can wax the fretoboard etc.

The stain for the neck was a little too orange but I think it will be OK in the final assembly:
