DIY Guitar Rack - Custom built for GAS

    Hey everyone,

This ones a quicky that I though someone might be interested in.

After recognising that we had developed GAS not long after starting out first build, Miss 8 and I set about designing a suitable (see cheap and easy to build) rack to help us quantify and maybe control our newly discovered illness.

Besides, it was mantherapy and positive daddy/daughter's bonding time, what possible objection could there be from the Ministry of War and Economics? Right.

Anyway we searched the interwebs and found a few ideas to steal on Pinterest. I can tell you it was hard to fight the primeval urge to point at the most extravagant ones and say 'eureka!' thats the one. Lucky, I am aware that taking over a bedroom in our hootchie and putting in wall to wall racks is a good way to a. piss off the honourable Minister, and b. disappear without trace....she has that ability.

So Miss 8 and I drew up a carefully considered plan on a warm Friday night whilst being entertained by those crazy sisters in Frozen...

We then did the required resource tender process (searched for costs of materials at the Green Box website), and then applied for the appropriate grant from the Ministry.

It was Saturday, and after getting financial approval (and completing my other jobs for the day as chauffeur and domestic goddess) we headed to the green box to make our purchases.

Sunday was build day, and we had been allocated 3 hours from 2pm to 5pm to use the open workshop and this is the result..

I was a bit confused at the Ministers reaction to the number of spaces though? She was wondering why so many....

Oh, the total cost for new materials was under $25

Looks real good. I wonder if it's within my skill to build one? I have a variety electric, bass and acoustic guitars and only one of each case...
