Horn strap position on Basswood SG

    Hi all,

Thinking of putting the strap position on the back of the guitar near the top of the horn (probably allow 1cm either side) or in the traditional position at the back of the neck. Am hoping that will help with the neck pulling downwards.

Am concerned that as basswood is pretty delicate that it could cause the wood to split?

Anyone have any advice or tips?

    Cheers,

    F

Shouldn't be an issue - make sure you pre drill first though...

I'm thinking of the balance issues. I actually think the neck heel might spacing will be slightly further forward and give better balance than the top horn (especially behind the top horn.) That would definitely be the case on my Gibbo SG-X.
