Awesome photos guys, unfortunately I can't compete with the quality of those.

But this is the view from my workshop. As most of you know I don't have a real workshop but build all my guitars on my back patio. So on the days when the summer storms roll in here in Brisbane I get an early break.

Photography used to be so simple haha

I do alot of gold prospecting so I cant cart a big camera anymore, they would get smashed, i also cant hang around for a capture, continuously on the move 20k a day in tough terrain sometimes, carrying enough weight to make a soldier cringe. I am also in the freezing cold and searing heat, and often submerged in water when i go in the bay with my underwater detector, so i have to use an Olympus TG4 these days.

Pretty hard on man and machines.

Crawling around on your guts in deep mud for a couple of days can pay off

Hi Tony, where did you find the WW2 badges? PNG or somewhere nearer to your home in Melbourne?

AN old disused RAAF base in Victoria that i did alot of research on. I was on my way to the gold fields, so took my relic hunting machine with me as well, and legally hit this place up in the pouring rain.

I have buckets of relics, including old rising suns etc, 100's and 100's of old coins from the 1800's and of course some nice gold

Funny you should mention New Guinea, i served in the Army up there in 1972, and where we got supplied from was an old Japanese air base at Awar, we found an old shot up Betty Bomber and got some of the control labels off her but i wouldnt know where they were these days.
