Being my 1st build this one has a few imperfections (runs) here and there, mainly around some of the hard edges and particularly on the bottom edge behind where the bridge will sit. More wet sanding tomorrow will hopefully eliminate them and then onto the home stretch with a few more ragged on TO coats. Neck is almost done and will wait for decals to be done before finishing headstock.

Printed some decal designs on transfer paper a few nights ago and last night made a home made spray booth to apply the clear acrylic. Amazing how many uses XXXX has haha.

Bugger, first Saturday off work in months and way too much humidity to do any more finishing coats.

Will attach decals to this build and the EX-1 after lunch but the design will be kept under wraps until final reveal.

Here are the decals for the DIY Tele & J Bass kits yet to be started. The EX ones came out good and went on OK and have been left to dry overnight. Not revealing yet as Top Secret, Classified. etc.

Decal paper was bought on eBay, 3 sheets for under $10 bucks from memory, and just run it through an inkjet printer. Images may not have come out extremely sharp as I was trying to get close of just these and show none of the EX's.

    Thanks mate.
Sort of in limbo land and have used spare time do other fiddly bits waiting for better weather conditions.
Gave my Son's Hot Rodded Strat a blast this arvo and shall post soundclips shortly. Man, my playing is very rusty as I have been spending more time on builds and researching things rather than finding time to enjoy the feel of strings beneath my fingers. Upside is I will make it a mission to spend more time playing whilst finishing off these 4 builds.

Been a few days since I last was on the forum and managed to get a couple of coats on top of the headstock decals.

Agree that the standard EX-5 headstock looks great and more authentic compared to the one on my EX-1.

Hey Andy, who keeps changing your Avatar? Is that you or are the moderators doing a Wokkaboy on you as they kept changing his around plenty for a while there towards the end of last footy season.
