There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
I thought that was a given....
I've been in the finger gym practicing for the past 11 months just to compete with Wokka's flash fingers.
Now there's an idea.....but maybe for the next one.

that would be a cool idea DB incorporating the overhang with the neck pup ring, would depend on the neck height in the pocket
